KET Intimidated by Ed Whitfield on West Kentucky Journal of Politics

Tonight was supposed to be the one and only debate between 1st Congressional Rep. Ed Whitfield and his challenger, Heather Ryan. Ed Whitfield won't be at the debate by his own choice. He cancelled last week, no excuse given.

Heather Ryan was informed by a call from KET this morning that the Whitfield campaign has sent a pretaped video to be played after she answers questions from two reporters.

KET says that Whitfield's campaign convinced them that the Fairness Doctrine and Federal Election Commission rules demand they run the video without rebuttal.

If this decision is allowed to stand, every incumbent, left right and center, won't have to debate their challenger in a public forum.

What a disrespectful way to treat the voters of West Kentucky for Eddie not to show his nose. A "Hollywood" production undoubtably written in Rovian Speak. Dear Eddie realy must be afraid of the pregnant Lady.

Having her drive up to Lexington with her family only to get the news that Eddie is getting MTV and she is getting Bill Bartleman is a cruel cut.
